50 CCTV cameras, 2 police teams: 48-hour search ends with recovery of buffaloes

Two buffaloes worth ₹1.6 lakh were stolen from outside the homes of Abhishek Shukla and Vansh Deepak Awasthi in Bajpeyi Kheda village under Nigohan police station on July 17–18.

Lucknow Police deployed two teams and analyzed footage from 40–50 CCTV cameras over 48 hours to track the suspects.

Police arrested Rajan, a 20-year-old resident of Barabanki, in a forest near Jungle Mangal Tiraaha and recovered both buffaloes.

Two accomplices—Dubey Raj alias Shakeel and Dilip alias Chhotu—escaped; the trio planned to sell the buffaloes at a slaughterhouse.

BJP block pramukh Om Prakash Shukla felicitated Nigohan SHO Ravindra Kumar and the team for the swift recovery.
