Russian missile strike kills 10 at Ukrainian defence event

A Russian ballistic missile strike in Ukraine's Kyiv region killed 10 people and injured close to 100 at a defence industry event.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the event should never have taken place and criticized holding weapons exhibitions with large crowds near residential buildings during wartime.

The event was hosted by a drone manufacturers' association and occurred at a site north of the capital, near residential buildings.

Ukraine's prosecutor general, Ruslan Kravchenko, opened a criminal case on possible failure to perform official duties during the organization and conduct of the event.
