Nepal PM Balendra Shah appealed for calm after three people died in communal violence in border districts.

Curfew was extended to new areas in Madhesh province, including Dhanusa, Siraha, and Birgunj districts.

The violence began in Sunsari district over loudspeakers and religious flags, then spread to Siraha.

Shah promised a neutral and transparent investigation and said an investigation committee had been formed.

Security forces were deployed and an all-party meeting was convened in Kathmandu to ease tensions.
