Swiggy top brass to meet Bengaluru hoteliers on Friday; Zomato adds OTP approval for discounts

Swiggy MD and group CEO Sriharsha Majety and Swiggy Food Marketplace CEO Rohit Kapoor will meet the Bangalore Hotels Association (BHA) on Friday.

Zomato introduced an OTP-based approval system for Merchant Voucher Discounts (MVDs), which are discounts funded by restaurants.

Under the new Zomato system, restaurants must approve any discount they are required to fund through a one-time password.

Zomato has assured restaurant partners that past wrongful deductions will be reviewed on an outlet-by-outlet basis.

BHA members have prepared a detailed breakdown of Swiggy payout deductions, including commission and long-distance charges, ahead of the meeting.
