Hedy Lamarr, born Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler in Vienna, became a Hollywood icon known as the 'Most beautiful woman in film'.

During World War II, Lamarr invented a radio signaling system using frequency hopping to encrypt communications.

Her frequency-hopping invention laid the foundation for modern Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies.

Lamarr gained knowledge of arms manufacturing from her marriage to arms manufacturer Friedrich Mandl, who had ties to Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.

After fleeing Austria in 1937, she signed with MGM's Louis B. Mayer and changed her name to Hedy Lamarr.
