PMPML promotion allegations, bus delays dominate PMC general body meeting

Corporator Prashant Jagtap alleged corruption in PMPML promotions with a 'rate card': ₹5 lakh per clerk promotion (around 200 posts), ₹10 lakh each for chief transport manager and deputy accounts officer posts.
₹7 lakh each was allegedly paid for 26 bus stand manager posts and 10 computer operator posts; technical/administrative posts involved ₹3 lakh to ₹7 lakh.
PMC general body meeting also discussed delays in procuring 1,000 CNG buses; funds were sanctioned over a year ago by PMC, PCMC, and PMRDA, but no buses delivered yet.
Buses were initially expected by March 2026, then revised to July, but now deliveries may start only by December 2026, drawing criticism from corporators.
Corporators demanded an independent investigation into promotion irregularities and sweeping reforms for greater accountability in PMPML.
