Israel, CentCom caught off guard as Trump announced Iran strike cancellation on Truth Social: Report

Israeli officials and the US military’s Central Command (CentCom) were not informed in advance of President Donald Trump’s decision to call off a planned major strike on Iran, according to Israeli media.

Israeli officials learned of the cancellation through Trump’s post on Truth Social, where he announced the move and claimed Israel had agreed to pursue a deal with Iran.

Trump said the proposed arrangement would include opening the Hormuz Strait and ending Iran’s nuclear threat, but Iranian officials rejected his account, calling it a 'lie'.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any US or Israeli attack would draw a 'proportionate response' from Tehran.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke with Trump on Saturday, expressing concern and seeking clarity on US plans for Iran.
