Bhojshala complex row: SC asks government to provide nearby site for Friday namaz

Supreme Court directed Madhya Pradesh government to make arrangements for Friday namaz at Khasra No 596, Dargah land adjacent to the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex in Dhar.

The court said another nearby location could be identified with mutual consent if the site is unsuitable.

The Muslim side had objected that the alternate site provided earlier was about one kilometre away, too far from the disputed complex.

The order clarified an interim arrangement from earlier this month, specifying prayers between 1 pm and 3 pm on Fridays.

The dispute concerns the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex, with pending appeals against a Madhya Pradesh high court judgment declaring Bhojshala a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
