Global circumnavigation by Indian all-women crew a testament to Nari Shakti & example of triservice jointness: Rajnath

Defence minister Rajnath Singh felicitated nine women military officers for completing the first-ever tri-service all-women circumnavigation sailing expedition 'Samudra Pradakshina'.

The expedition covered nearly 25,500 nautical miles over 314 days across four oceans aboard the Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni.

Rajnath said the achievement shattered stereotypes that women cannot accomplish arduous military missions and is a testament to Nari Shakti.

He termed the expedition an example of 'tri-service jointness' and said it showcased India's engineering excellence and indigenous capabilities.
