Bareilly assistant prof alleges sacking over Jantar Mantar protest, college denies claim

Assistant professor Mohit Bhardwaj at Ganna Utpadak Postgraduate College in Bareilly says his services were terminated after he participated in a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar from July 18 to 20.

Bhardwaj is also the Bareilly district president of the Samajwadi Party’s youth wing, the SP Yuvjan Sabha.

College manager Rajendra Kumar denied the dismissal was linked to the protest, citing repeated complaints and lack of interest in academic activities.

Bhardwaj claimed the termination violated legal procedures, including no show-cause notice or departmental inquiry.

The college said the decision was based on a termination letter dated July 22, following complaints against Bhardwaj.
