Richard M. Stevenson, 41, was charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI leading to death after a Fox River boat crash in Illinois.

Stevenson is the Vice President of Sales at Illinois-based Stevenson Crane Service, according to Shaw Local, citing his LinkedIn—now made private.

One person died and two were injured in the head-on boat collision on July 25, 2026, near McHenry County; Stevenson was allegedly operating one boat.

Unconfirmed social media posts suggest Stevenson may be related to the family of Stevenson Crane founder Donna Stevenson; the company has not commented.

Stevenson was arrested by Illinois conservation police and booked at McHenry County Jail at 4:30am EDT on July 26.
