Mumbai: MSHRC Hears Complaint Alleging CSMT Railway Police Assault; Complainant Seeks ₹5 Lakh Compensation

Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MSHRC) is hearing a complaint by Nashik resident Daut A. Shaikh alleging assault by a Railway Police constable at CSMT on September 24, 2025.

Shaikh seeks Rs 5 lakh compensation and has accused Police Constable Sameer Namdeo Jadhav under BNS Sections 115 and 118, and the Inquiry Officer under Sections 238 and 251.

CCTV footage submitted by PSI Anil Vasant Sonar was examined but the exact frame of the alleged incident could not be identified.

Medical reports from multiple hospitals were submitted, but none concluded the treatment was attributable to the alleged police assault.

Shaikh alleges destruction of electronic evidence and irregularities in the investigation.
