Man stranded at Paris airport for 18 years

Mehran Karimi Nasseri lived in Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport for nearly 18 years after arriving expecting to catch a flight.
Nasseri was born in 1945 in Iran's Khuzestan province and left Iran searching for his mother, traveling across Europe without proper documents.
He was stranded at the airport due to a complicated immigration ordeal and could not move freely between countries.
Nasseri created a routine at Terminal 2F, sleeping on a bench, writing, reading, and storing possessions on luggage trolleys.
In 1999, he was granted refugee status in France but continued living in the airport until 2006.
