New Biden tapes reveal discussions on classified material, memory lapses

Audio recordings of former President Joe Biden's interviews with biographer Mark Lewis Zwonitzer were released on Monday.
The recordings appear to support Special Counsel Robert Hur's 2024 report conclusions that Biden discussed classified material, struggled to recall details, and retained classified documents after leaving the vice presidency.
The recordings were released by the right-wing Oversight Project, an arm of the conservative Heritage Foundation, after winning a lawsuit against the Justice Department.
Biden had opposed making the tapes public but withdrew his legal challenge on Monday.
The release is part of a broader legal battle over the release of Biden's interview recordings.
