Aerotropolis project: Landowners from first phase still await possession of developed plots

Around 6,500 to 7,000 landowners who received letters of intent in 2021 for Pockets A to D of the Aerotropolis project still await possession of developed plots.

Landowners opted for the land pooling policy instead of monetary compensation, expecting timely project completion, but now regret their decision.

Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) recently awarded ₹23,457 crore compensation for second-phase acquisitions (Blocks E to J), nearly double the highest per-acre rate of the first phase.

The first-phase compensation ranged from ₹1.8 crore to ₹4 crore per acre, while Mattran village received ₹8.28 crore per acre in the second phase.
