India-made Tata Nexon to launch in South Africa as the Osprey: Details
Tata Motors will launch the India-made Nexon in South Africa as the Tata Osprey in Q3 2026.
The Osprey becomes the fifth model in Tata's South Africa lineup, joining the Tiago, Punch, Curvv, and Harrier.
The Osprey name is derived from a bird of prey common in South Africa, reflecting the SUV's adventurous character and local relevance.
The Osprey will retain the Nexon's five-star NCAP safety rating and is expected to carry over equipment including dual 10.25-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, and ADAS.
The Osprey will be positioned below the Curvv in South Africa, following growing customer demand since Tata re-entered the market in August 2025.
