The quote is from Shatner's 2018 book 'Live Long And…What I Learned Along the Way,' co-authored with David Fincher.

Shatner, born March 22, 1931, in Montreal, Canada, started acting at age 8 and performed in radio productions for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from McGill University before debuting onstage in 'Tom Sawyer' in 1952.

By 1954, he was recruited at the newly formed Stratford Shakespearean Festival.
