No private licences granted under SHANTI Act, rules being drafted: Govt

The government has not granted any private licences under the SHANTI Act, 2025, as rules are still being drafted.

MoS Jitendra Singh told Parliament that private operators will need insurance under the act.

Private operators face liability up to Rs 3,000 crore per incident under the SHANTI Act.

The Centre will cover damages exceeding the liability cap under the SHANTI Act.
