4-year-old boy dies after falling into open tubewell in Noida; case filed

A four-year-old boy drowned after falling into an open tubewell chamber in Sector 123, Noida, on Friday evening.

The Noida Authority operated the tubewell; the boy was alone and may have been playing or trying to drink water.

Police registered a case under Section 105 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after the parents' complaint.

The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem; police noted apparent negligence by the authority.
