Pune students wash BJP corporator's feet at school event

Students at a Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) school in Sukhsagar Nagar were allegedly made to wash the feet of BJP corporator Varsha Bhimrao Sathe during a Guru Purnima event.

Amol Pardeshi, Pune city vice-president of the NCP-SP Youth Wing, condemned the incident and demanded an impartial inquiry.

Pardeshi said the act was contrary to constitutional values and tarnished the education system, and stressed that schools should not become centres of personality worship.

The school administration and PMC authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
