CWG 2026 Day 5 Live: India look to build on Mirabai's gold in Glasgow

Mirabai Chanu became the first Indian weightlifter to win three consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medals, lifting a combined 190kg in the women's 48kg category and setting a Games record of 85kg in the snatch.

Rishikanta Singh won silver in the men's 60kg weightlifting with a total lift of 264kg after equalling the Games record in the snatch.

Raja Muthupandi won silver in the men's 65kg weightlifting with a combined lift of 286kg.

Boxer Jadumani Singh defeated Pakistan's Sumama Rehman 5-0 to reach the men's 55kg quarter-finals, while Preeti Pawar advanced in the women's 54kg division with a referee-stopped victory over Malawi's Deborah Mtenje.

India's men's 4x200m freestyle relay team finished sixth in the final after qualifying, while lawn bowls and wheelchair basketball teams suffered defeats.
