UP government agrees to defer supplementary budget debate after Oppn’s request

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Business Advisory Committee, chaired by Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Singh, met on Sunday and agreed to reschedule the supplementary budget discussion.

The UP government accepted the Opposition's request to defer the supplementary budget debate from August 4 to August 5 and 6.

The deferral aims to give members of all parties more time for a detailed debate on the government's additional expenditure proposals.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya urged parties to avoid walkouts and disruptions, stating they waste taxpayers' money and affect legislative business.

Leader of the Opposition Lal Bihari Yadav appreciated Maurya's cooperative approach and stressed dialogue and coordination among parties.
