Thermal cameras, lights to be installed amid mystery Nainital stone throwing

Nainital Police superintendent Jagdish Chand has directed the installation of thermal CCTV cameras and high-mast LED lights to address mysterious stone-throwing incidents.

The stone-throwing incidents, reported since July 10, have injured at least four people in areas like Zila Panchayat Road, Mevilla Compound, and Jivji Cottage.

Police also plan to clear bushes and dense undergrowth, and intensify technical surveillance and regular patrolling.

Commissioner Deepak Rawat directed the police to investigate and take appropriate action after residents reported the incidents.
