Kandivali Celebrates Jagannath Rath Yatra With Religious Fervour

Kandivali's annual Jagannath Rath Yatra saw over 2,500 participants on Sunday, starting from Sapphire Heights and ending at Alica Hall.

The procession featured a decorated chariot carrying Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladev, and Subhadra Devi, with kirtan and dancing despite monsoon rains.

Residents from housing societies set up makeshift altars, offered bhoga, distributed prasadam, and showered rose petals on the chariot.

Local dignitaries including MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar, corporator Neelam Gurav, former MP Gopal Shetty, and former corporator Surekha Patil attended.

The yatra, initiated in 2015, concluded with kirtan and prasadam distribution at Alica Hall, driven by volunteer efforts.
