Clash over canal water ‘theft’ leaves three irrigation officials, farmer injured in Hansi

Three Haryana irrigation department employees and a farmer were injured in a clash over alleged canal water theft in Kharakda village near Hansi.
Irrigation officials said they were attacked while removing an illegal water diversion pipe; farmers accused the staff of assault and damaging their irrigation system.
Canal guard Sachin and junior engineers Ankit Bisla and Jitendra Singh were injured; Sachin was referred to Hisar for treatment.
Farmer Narendra Singh claimed the team cut a pipeline to his solar-powered irrigation system and assaulted him, and ₹50,000 went missing.
Irrigation Department Employees Union president Ashok Kumar condemned the attack and demanded arrest of the accused.
