Henry Nowak murder: UK Police translate Sikh man Vickrum Digwa's murder confession to brother Gurpreet

Vickrum Digwa admitted stabbing 16-year-old Henry Nowak multiple times in a conversation with his brother Gurpreet in a police van on December 5, 2025.

The conversation, originally in Punjabi, was translated into English and used as evidence during Digwa's trial.

Gurpreet advised Digwa to claim self-defence and suggested describing the weapon differently, referencing a 'kirpan' and 'dori'.

The Sikh community disputed the use of the term 'kirpan' for the weapon; Henry was stabbed with a larger Indo-Persian dagger.

After the attack, Digwa filmed Henry lying injured instead of calling for medical assistance.
