Petition seeks CBI probe into nepotism charges against Karnataka Public Service Commission chief

Vijayapura MLA Basavaraj Patil Yatnal and All-Karnataka State Students Association filed a petition in the high court seeking a CBI probe into nepotism charges against KPSC chairperson Shivashankarappa S Sahukar.

Petitioners alleged Sahukar enabled the selection of his two daughters, who claimed reservation under Category 3B.

The high court ordered notice to the state government and CBI in response to the petition.

Petitioners argued that the KPSC's internal crime registration was an 'eyewash' and that the investigation should be entrusted to the CBI.
