Another U-turn by Nepal? Central bank says will mint new coins with contested map

Nepal Rastra Bank announced minting a new one-rupee coin featuring a map of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani, disputed with India.

Nepal claims these territories; India considers them part of Uttarakhand.

The coin will be smaller and lighter than the previous one-rupee coin, but the design has not yet been officially received.
