Unknown persons blow up PMGSY bridge in Manipur’s Kamjong; probe underway: Cops

Unknown persons blew up a PMGSY bailey bridge over the Namban Lok River in Manipur's Kamjong district on July 22, 2026.

The bridge was the only connectivity between Chatric village and surrounding villages with the district headquarters.

Miscreants used improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to blow up the bridge.

A four-wheeler telecom vehicle parked on the bank of the Namban Lok River was also set on fire.

A suo moto case has been registered at Chassad police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
