Lovlina Borgohain settles for silver after narrow loss in CWG 2026 boxing final
Lovlina Borgohain lost 1-4 on points to Australia's Emma-Sue Greentree in the women's 75kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Borgohain won the silver medal, her first Commonwealth Games medal, and it was India's seventh boxing medal at the 2026 Games.
Borgohain, with her left knee strapped, lost the first round 4-1, won the second 4-1, and lost the final round 4-1.
Greentree, who had a cut that briefly stopped the bout, took the win and the gold medal.
Borgohain, an Olympic bronze medallist, had a bye into the quarterfinals and beat Tuvalu's Tarona Taafaki 5-0 in the semifinals.
