NGT admits plea against DG sets in DLF Phase 1 parks, seeks replies

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) admitted a plea alleging 30 diesel and gas generator sets operate in nine green belts and parks in DLF Phase-1, Gurugram.

The NGT directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB), Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), and DLF Authorities to file responses by the next hearing on August 5.

The plea was filed by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Block-A, which provided photographic evidence of the generator operations and an amended township site plan.

The NGT will hear this case alongside a similar matter regarding Malibu Towne in Sector 47, where 10 DG sets are alleged to violate environmental norms.

The HSPCB stated it will examine the allegations and submit a status report.
