Woman killed, son, grandson hurt as SUV rams into bike in Mohali

A 55-year-old woman, Gurmeet Kaur, died after a Thar SUV allegedly hit her and her family's motorcycle in Mohali.

The injured are her son Gagandeep Singh, 27, and grandson Gurkeerat Singh; they were on a Splendor motorcycle when the SUV, registration PB 03 BS 9003, rammed them from behind near IISER traffic lights.

The family was en route to Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan in Sohana.

Kaur was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where she was declared brought dead.

The driver fled the scene; an FIR was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 281, 106(1), 125(a), and 324(4).
