Police seek land cleared in Turkman Gate demolition for women’s station

Delhi Police requested a 60ft by 40ft parcel of MCD land near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque at Turkman Gate for a women's police station.

The land was reclaimed after a January 7 demolition drive by MCD and Delhi Police following a Delhi High Court order.

Police cited the site's strategic location and accessibility as reasons for the request.

The facility aims to strengthen prevention and investigation of crimes against women and improve outreach.

Delhi Police inaugurated its first women's police station in June and plans more district facilities.
