CWG 2026: Neeraj Chopra says conditions were not ideal for athletes in qualification round: ‘A lot of throwers…’

Neeraj Chopra qualified for the men's javelin throw final at CWG 2026 in Glasgow with a best throw of 79.61m, finishing fifth in qualification.
Chopra said conditions were not ideal due to cold and unpredictable wind, which made it difficult for throwers to judge their throws.
None of the athletes reached the automatic qualification mark of 84m; Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga came closest with 82.84m.
Rohit Yadav (78.37m) and Yash Vir Singh (78.36m) also qualified for the final, finishing ninth and tenth respectively.
Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem finished seventh with a season-best throw of 78.63m.
