DJ Bigga Rankin dies at 50

Billy 'Bigga Rankin' Plummer, a Florida-based DJ and music promoter, has died at age 50.

His family confirmed his death but did not disclose a cause.

He was known for launching the careers of artists including Rick Ross, T.I., Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Young Dolph, and YFN Lucci.

Beyond music, he was a community advocate in Jacksonville, Florida.

A statement from his family asked for privacy during their grieving and said funeral arrangements will be shared later.
