Indian-origin man among 25 persons facing revocation of US citizenship

The US Department of Justice has filed a denaturalisation case against 65-year-old Narinder Singh, an Indian-origin man, in the District of Delaware for allegedly using a fraudulent identity to gain US admission.

Singh is accused of using two identities since 1996 and naturalised as a US citizen on May 1, 2008; the complaint alleges seven counts of misrepresentation and unlawful acts.

The Justice Department filed complaints against 25 individuals, including two of Pakistani descent, Zia Murad Bhatti and Mohd Wasif, for falsifying identity.

The complaints span 17 countries and allege crimes including attempted murder, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, marriage fraud, identity fraud, passport fraud, and bank fraud.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated this is the largest coordinated denaturalisation effort in Department history, with total filings reaching 123 since January 20, 2025.
