SC panel directs Noida to register lease deeds of homebuyers in Supertech Supernova

A Supreme Court Empowered Committee directed the Noida authority to register lease deeds of homebuyers in Supertech’s Supernova project without requiring the clearing of dues by the erstwhile developer, Supertech Realtors Private Limited (SRPL), which is facing insolvency.
The decision applies to both residential and commercial units, benefiting nearly 500 apartment owners who faced refusal by the Noida authority due to outstanding dues.
The committee, headed by former Jammu & Kashmir high court chief justice MM Kumar, replaced SRPL's administration and control on December 16, 2025, to expedite project completion.
Of 2,863 housing units sold in the Supernova project, possession has been granted for 1,121 units, while 5,251 units remain unsold with construction pending.
The Supernova project, located in Noida’s Sector 94, is a mixed-use development on 70,002 square metres with an estimated cost of ₹ 2,326.14 crore.
