Cop arrested after woman alleges misconduct on Bengaluru bus
Head Constable Manjunath, attached to Sanjaynagar police station, was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with an 18-year-old college student on a BMTC bus in Bengaluru.
The woman accused Manjunath of touching her inappropriately and falling on her; a case of sexual harassment was registered at Gangammanagudi police station.
Manjunath filed a counter-complaint alleging the woman and four others assaulted him with slippers, car keys, and rings, causing injuries to his face, thighs, neck, and back.
Police are investigating both complaints; Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-west) DL Nagesh said it is unclear whether Manjunath deliberately fell on the girl or lost balance due to intoxication.
