‘Mujahideen sent to bleed India have turned guns inwards’: India seeks global scrutiny of Pakistan's crackdown in PoJK

India's MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called for global scrutiny of Pakistan's crackdown in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), citing over 40 civilian deaths since July 27.

Jaiswal said Pakistan's Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs admitted that militants trained and armed by Pakistan to target India have turned their weapons against the Pakistani state.

Protests in PoJK led by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) escalated over rising living costs, administrative neglect, political discrimination, and atrocities against minorities.

India accused Pakistan of using 'ruthless force' and showing 'absolute disdain' for PoJK residents, including remarks by Pakistan's defence minister calling protesters 'enemies'.

Jaiswal described the local body election outcome as a 'humiliating rejection' of Pakistan's establishment, with people of PoJK appealing for support.
