Harassment case: Telangana HC posts hearing on IPS officer's plea to quash FIR to July 27

Telangana High Court posted hearing on a petition filed by a trainee IPS officer to quash an FIR for sexual harassment to July 27.

The FIR was registered on July 18 based on a complaint from a woman co-trainee alleging stalking, sexual harassment, and blackmail at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.

The accused officer was booked under provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (assault, sexual harassment, stalking) and Information Technology Act.

The complainant alleged the officer sent sexually abusive messages, made derogatory remarks, and on July 9 wrongfully restrained, strangled, and filmed her without consent.
