Forest City Fights Pollution:China is building a city where 40,000 trees will grow across buildings

China is building Liuzhou Forest City, where 40,000 trees and a million plants will cover buildings to fight pollution.

Italian architect Stefano Boeri designed the project, scaling up his Bosco Verticale towers in Milan.

The city is planned for the northern edge of Liuzhou in Guangxi, covering 175 hectares along the Liujiang river.

Greenery will be integrated into buildings from the start, covering rooftops, balconies, and facades.

Bosco Verticale reportedly filters 15-17.5 tons of soot annually, inspiring this larger forest city model.
