Class 12 student shot over ‘tattoo dispute’, critical; assailant kills self

A 19-year-old Class 12 student in Meerut was shot three times by Aditya Pradhan over a tattoo dispute.

Pradhan, a history-sheeter, shot the victim twice in the abdomen and once in the head, then shot himself twice in the chest and died on the spot.

The woman is in critical condition at Subharti Hospital; police recovered two illegal pistols and five spent cartridge cases from the scene.

CCTV footage showed the two arguing for about 10 minutes before the shooting near Zonal Park in Defence Enclave Colony.

Police said the shooting was triggered by Pradhan's suspicion regarding a tattoo on the woman's body.
