LDA enforcement wing under lens after ₹7.5L Vigilance trap; 3 held

Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment arrested LDA junior engineer Dinesh Kumar Verma, supervisor Chandra Prakash, and private individual Shravan Kumar while accepting a ₹7.5 lakh bribe from a property owner.
The accused allegedly misused complaints filed on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal to extort money by threatening property owners with enforcement action.
Verma visited the complainant's construction site and directed him to stop work, citing an IGRS complaint; Shravan Kumar demanded ₹15 lakh to prevent action.
The officials agreed to accept the bribe in two instalments of ₹7.5 lakh each after the complainant expressed inability to pay full amount.
The Vigilance team recovered ₹7.5 lakh during the trap operation, and the accused were found to be colluding to use IGRS complaints for extortion.
