‘A day off isn’t really a day off in Canada’: Indian woman shares how life changed after moving from India

Shivani Godara Moond, an Indian woman in Canada, shared that she had three house helps in India but must now do all cooking, cleaning, and chores alone in Canada.

She said a day off in India meant fun, while in Canada it means dishes, laundry, and groceries.

Moond described her new life as feeling like she signed a permanent housekeeping contract.

Despite the challenges, she stated the experience made her and her partner Praveen stronger and more independent.
