ARAI's study on E20 fuel impact may be made public

The ARAI study on E20 fuel's impact may be released by government agencies to remove misconceptions among vehicle users.

The study was directed by the petroleum ministry in June 2021 and conducted by ARAI, IOCL, and SIAM; submitted in June 2024.

For E10-compliant two-wheelers, fuel consumption increased 1-6% and mass emissions met regulatory requirements.

For BS-IV cars, fuel consumption increased 2-4%; for BS-VI cars, 2-3%.

Specific vehicle models may not be disclosed to protect manufacturers' commercial interests.
