Former residents’ committee president held over alleged defamatory WhatsApp messages

Anita Kirtan, former president of a residents' committee in Janta Colony, arrested for allegedly posting defamatory and threatening messages on local WhatsApp groups.
FIR registered under Sections 356 (criminal defamation) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Anita was replaced as president by Asha Rani after members expressed dissatisfaction with her functioning.
Complainant Jyoti Sharma alleged Anita targeted her after she supported Asha Rani's appointment.
Police arrested Anita and are examining the WhatsApp messages as part of the investigation.
