Kamal Haasan slams lathicharge on student protesters: ‘Children were met with barricades and batons’

Tamil actor and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan condemned the lathicharge on student protesters over the NEET controversy, saying children were met with barricades and batons instead of answers.

Haasan urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his indefinite fast, stating the nation would need his voice ahead.

Haasan criticized the education system where coaching replaces learning, anxiety replaces curiosity, and criminality replaces merit.

Protests erupted after allegations of a NEET paper leak and reports of student suicides, with demands for accountability and reforms led by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

Haasan addressed the children of India, saying they are the best and have done their duty, now it is time for the country to do its duty by them.
