Tanvi Sharma reaches Taipei Open 2026 final

Tanvi Sharma reached the Taipei Open 2026 badminton final on 1 August, beating 5th-seeded Huang Yu-Hsun in straight games (21-17, 21-11) in 33 minutes at Taipei Arena.
Sharma, unseeded and ranked 34th, will face Vietnam's Nguyen Thuy Linh in the championship match on 2 August.
This is her second BWF Super 300 final; she was runner-up at last year's US Open and has lost two Super 100 finals, so she aims for her first title.
Sharma, 17, from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was World Junior No. 1 and trained at Pullela Gopichand Academy for six years; she's currently coached by Park Tae-sang.
She has upset former World Champion Nozomi Okuhara and beat World No. 23 Nguyen Thuy Linh at the US Open.
