Curfew continues across Nepal after sectarian clashes kill three

An indefinite curfew remains in several towns in southeastern Nepal after Hindu-Muslim clashes in Sunsari and Siraha districts killed three people.

Violence began late Sunday in Diwanganj, a town in Sunsari district near the Indian border, with clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah appealed for calm and promised a transparent investigation.

Authorities tightened security to prevent further unrest after days of sectarian violence.
