Israel's Ben-Gvir joins Jewish extremists as they storm al-Aqsa mosque compound; Palestinians react

Israel's far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir joined thousands of Jewish extremists storming Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

The protesters, escorted by armed police, prayed, waved Israeli flags, and sang the national anthem at the site.

Non-Muslim prayer is banned at the site under the long-standing status quo agreement.

Ben-Gvir has eroded this agreement through repeated inflammatory visits to the compound in recent years.
